A Message from the President

Dear Sagemont Parents,

 

My staff always laughs at me because at the end of each year I always proclaim that this was “the best year in the history of our school.” This year I am telling the truth based on the incredible amount of success stories that our students have had. Since our last issue of Monty’s Roar, the following accomplishments have taken place:

 

• Students in the class of 2010 were accepted to colleges such as University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, Emory University, Brandeis University, Boston College, University of Michigan, University of Florida and University of Miami.

• The class of 2010 earned approximately $3 million dollars in merit scholarships from the colleges that accepted them.

• Chris Merlino and Dean Malahais were nominated for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively for the Broward County Cappie Awards. Only five students per category are nominated county wide.

• The Lower School Campus Chorus performed at a very high level at Universal Studios in Orlando.

• The 4th grade Odyssey of the Mind team came in 4th place in the state competition.

• Sagemont senior Fab Melo was named a McDonalds All American and played in the game that was televised on ESPN on March 30th.

• Five French high school students (Michael Natelli, Karl Tiesler, Maria Bonaventura and Mattais Roberts) received a National top rank in the recent state competition.

 

Over 150 parents recently took the time to complete our annual Parent Satisfaction Survey. I want to thank all of you who participated in this survey. We receive a tremendous amount of constructive feedback that enables our leadership team to continue to enhance the educational and extracurricular programs that we deliver. We are very proud that you gave us a 95% overall satisfaction rating this year. Thank you for your continued support of our school and programs.
