Our most successful Microdermabrasion Day ever was held in February, with over $1255 raised for the year! Thanks so much to Susan Sofman , who personally provided this service to our school, donating 100% of the funds to the PTO. Susan will be leaving the PTO after serving many years as our Treasurer. Good luck to her son as he moves on to college. We will miss you dearly Susan and thank you for all your hard work and dedication.
In February, the PTO and Papa John’s started the monthly Papa John’s Dough Raiser fundraiser. It started out a little slow but the word is getting out and we look forward to seeing this fundraiser grow next year. Free pizza parties to the grade who orders the most each month! Papa John’s has been a valued partner with the PTO and we can’t thank them enough.
In March, the PTO provided next year’s slate of officers (as nominated), as well as posting and announcing all PTO board positions that are available. Please check the school PTO website link for a description of board positions and/or areas that you could volunteer for. We are always in need of volunteers, and there are many positions open for next year. Please email Lynn Froemming at muwar1@aol.com or Marsha Bales at balesboystwo@msn.com if you are interested.
In April, the PTO hosted a breakfast meeting for Incoming 6th Grade families. We want to thank the families that came and thank our members for making them feel welcome. Thanks to our hospitality chair, Jodi Tupler, who personally provides all the goodies for every meeting all year long. Thanks to Jodi and her baked goodies, we’ve put on a few extra pounds! Yum.
In May, we plan to host the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon as well as the Birthday Celebration Club. We know that the faculty and staff appreciate these small gestures on behalf of parents and students. Thank you to all who volunteer for events such as these, especially our PTO chairs, Olga Sfeir and Michelle Rindone who make sure the food is great and the time is special.
In June, the PTO will sponsor the year end field trip for all students. Our last large event meant to make our student’s year at Sagemont special.
The PTO was happy to support the students, teachers and school this year by providing monetary support to the Athletic Department, hosting luncheons, providing refreshments at numerous events, yearbook support, supplying ice cream on Wednesdays, staffing Pizza Lunch on Fridays, staffing the Lion’s Den, funding Teacher Wish Lists (for items in the classroom, media center, art, science lab, etc.), providing Gently Used Uniform sales, Microdermabrasion days, staffing student picture days and much, much more.
The PTO couldn’t have accomplished all that we did without the help of numerous volunteers, supportive families and students and especially a very dedicated PTO Board made up of the most caring and giving individuals you could ever meet.
On that note, one of our most treasured board members will be leaving us when her son graduates this year. Jeanmarie Mack has run the Lion’s Den and Pizza Lunch positions for numerous years. She could be found at school almost every day, year after year, serving in any one of her PTO capacities of Lion’s Den, Pizza Lunch Fridays, Student Pictures, Athletic Banquet Support, Student Luncheons, Battle of the Grades support, and much more. It will take an army of volunteers to replace Jeanmarie. We know that everyone will miss you. Good luck to your son as he moves on to college!
