PTO News, Upper School Campus
In April, the PTO sponsored two successful fundraising events. Susan Sofman, a former Sagemont PTO Member, provided Microdermabrasions at greatly reduced rates with 100% of the proceeds going to the PTO. Thanks to Susan, we raised $775! After receiving our thank you card, Susan replied with a heart felt note saying how much she appreciated the School and the PTO for the years she and her son were here. We have some special Alumni out there!
The second fundraiser was the Spring Uniform Sale. Thank you Lori Autry, Inger Meyer, Carol Lima and Alexandra Casielles for helping us clean out the shelves to make room for next year's inventory. We made approximately $500. A special thank you must go to this year's Lion's Den Volunteers including Adriana Hewitt, Patricia Calle, Inger Meyer, Cristina Pardo, Jodi Tupler, Olga Gomez, Ana Munoz, Alexandra Casielles, Debbie Plumadore, Marsha Bales, and Lori Autry. Everyone worked so hard to help out in every way!
May and June events sponsored by the PTO will include the Incoming 6th Grade Breakfast, the Faculty & Staff Appreciation Luncheon, the Faculty & Staff Birthday Celebration, and the Student Year End Field Trip to Rapids Water Park. Always a fun way to end the year. Thank you to Michelle Rindone, Cecilia Henry and Marsha Bales for their help in bringing these events together.
A special thank you to Leah Orr, Inger Meyer and their huge group of Pizza Lunch Volunteers for their hard work and spirited Friday Lunches! I think the kids loved the surprise candy and drink choices and our profit increased this year!
This year's PTO was filled with hard working, dedicated members who gave their time, energy and love to help support all the students and the school. Many additional parents provided help to our members by assisting in Battle of the Grades, Luncheons, Pizza Lunches on Fridays, and the Uniform Store, etc. With everyone's help, the PTO was able to purchase many items for the school, including; Science Anatomy Models, band instruments and athletic equipment. Additional classroom aids are in process to be fulfilled by year end.
The PTO has many board positions and/or events that parents can participate in. Now is the time to let us know if you are interested in helping out. All positions are open to new members and most positions can utilize more than one person. Consider helping with Friday Pizza Lunch or coming into the Lion's Den. Grade Coordinators, communications, and luncheons, are an example of what we need to make the organization successful. Please call on any current board member to get information. New members are always welcome and greatly appreciated!
The school year becomes more special for students, faculty and teachers when the PTO can sponsor events with money earned through fundraising! On behalf of the PTO, thank you to each of the families who supported us!
