HS Graduation

Dear Parents/Guardians of Seniors:

This is a very exciting year for you and your students. Included below you will find important information regarding upcoming events for the Class of 2017!

Seniors: It is important that you adhere to ALL school policies in order to be able to participate and enjoy all of the events that have been planned for you.

Student Only Events

School Picture Day

  • Tuessday, October 4, 2016
  • Event hours: 7:45 am
  • Gerlinde will be on campus taking pictures of seniors to be included in the yearbook.
  • If you miss picture day, you need to contact Gerlinde Photography (954-961-4450) ASAP to make an appointment.
  • If you would like additional poses/backdrops, you will need to call Gerlinde to make an appointment.
Ring Ordering from Jostens
  • Thursday, October 13th and Thursday, October 20th
  • Event hours: Lunchtime
  • Location: Cafe
  • Opportunity for seniors to order a class ring, if one has not already been purchased.
  • Ring Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 8:30 am inthe cafe.
Senior Announcement /Senior Items - Ordered from Jostens
  • Thursday, October 13th and Thursday, October 20th
  • Event hours: Lunchtime
  • Location: Cafe
  • Opportunity for seniors to order announcements and other Class of 2017 related items. Deadline for ordering announcements is December 9, 2016
Senior Movie and Lunch
  • Wednesday, October 19th
  • Event hours: Lunchtime
  • Location: TBA
  • School pays for student movie tickets; students are responsible for paying for their lunch.
Senior Picnic
  • Date TBA
  • Event hours: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Location: Markham Park
Grad Bash
  • Friday, April 7th
  • Event hours: 7pm to 2am
  • Location: Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida
  • Bus departs Sagemont at 2:30pm and returns to Sagemont at 6:00am on Saturday, April 8th
  • Space is limited. $75 deposit due to front office by October 28, 2016
  • Dress Code for Ladies:
    • Allowed: Dresses, skirts, dress pants, casual pants (including khaki-style or jeans,) blouse, and comfortable shoes (including tennis shoes, dress sandals with backs, or boots.)
    • Not Allowed: Halter and similar style tops, midriff shirts, miniskirts, mini dresses, flip flops, bedroom slippers, and backless shoes.)
  • Dress Code for Men:
    • Allowed: Casual or dress pants (including khaki-style or jeans,) shirt with collar (i.e., golf-style shirt, dress shirt,) tie, sport jacket, suit, comfortable shoes (including tennis shoes, dress shoes, or boots.)
    • Not Allowed: Tank-tops, sleeveless t-shirts, and undershirts, flip flops, bedroom slippers, and backless shoes.
  • Not Allowed for Ladies or Men: Clothing with holes or shredding, visable undergarments, clothing that exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate at a school function, e.g., bikini tops or bottoms, clothing with obscene or vulgar images and/or language, backpacks of any type, size or style, no high school logos, and no zip codes.
  • Students not adhering to the dress code policy will not be permitted to attend Grad Bash. Students will not be permitted to change their clothes on the bus - no pajamas or bedroom slippers on the bus!

Senior FInal Exams

  • Monday through Thursday are Early Release Days for seniors.
  • Block A & B Final - May 22nd, Block C & D Final - May 23rd, Block E & F - May 24th, & Block G Final - May 25th

Ring Ceremony

  • Wednesday, February 1, 2017
  • Event hours: 8:30 am
  • Location: Cafe
  • Sagemont tradition in which juniors and seniors are presented their class rings
Dinner Dance
  • Thursday, May 25th
  • Event hours: 6:30pm to 10:00pm
  • Location: Signature Grand
  • Cost is $60 per person (Graduates are paid for courtesy of the Junior class)
  • There is no limit to the number of tickets purchased for this; however, space is limited, so act fast before it sells out.
  • Senior slideshow will be presented at the Dinner Dance.
  • Photographs for the senior slideshow can be emailed to: TBA
  • Semi-formal attire
  • The last day to purchase tickets for the Dinner Dance is Friday, March 31, 2017. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
  • Friday, May 26th
  • Event hours: 6:00pm
  • Location: The Sagemont School Athletic Center
  • Graduates will receive 8 tickets per family.
  • Graduation Rehearsal is mandatory. Graduates need to arrive in the Athletic Center no later than 9:00 am for the rehearsal. Graduates not attending rehearsal will NOT be able to participate in the Graduation Ceremony.
  • Graduates must wear caps and gowns to rehearsal. A class of 2017 group picture will be taken at the conclusion of the rehearsal.
  • Graduates must arrive in the Media Center no later than 5:00 pm for the Ceremony.
  • Graduation Commitment Agreement forms must be signed in order to participate in teh Graduation Ceremony. Agreement forms are due no later than April 6, 2017.
  • Cap & Gown
    • Cost of cap & gown is included in tuition
    • Distributed the week of May 8th, along with dinner dance tickets, and graduation tickets.


  • There will be a photographer at the Dinner Dance taking individua and family photos, as well as graduates photos at the graduation rehearsal. Order forms will be mailed to your home.

Web Streaming

  • The graduation ceremony will be streamed live on the web. The streaming link will be distributed at the Dinner Dance.
