Book Club
The book club is an afterschool gathering of Sagemont students where books are discussed that are not read in class. Discussions include literary analysis, social implications, censorships, and author's lives. It is open to all student bibliophiles.
The book club members consist of middle and high school students. We meet every other Wednesday. The books we have read so far this year include: The Devil and Miss Prymm, The Cellist of Sarajevo; The Sisters Grimm, Boot Camp; Sirena; The Goose Girl; Savvy; Peter Pan; and Alice in Wonderland or Through the Looking Glass.
Book club members have held bake sales and caramel apple sales to raise money for Susan B. Anthony, a non-profit charity for unwed mothers.
