Sagemont's extra-curricular activities give students ample opportunity to participate in school and community service, pursue talents and special interests and build bonds and friendships. Opportunities for leadership roles exist in middle and high school student government, and in nationally-recognized organizations like Forensic Club, Key Club and National Honor Society.

Art Club

The Art Club is an afterschool gathering where students study, discuss and create art. It is open to all Sagemont students.

Band Club

Band Club is open to any student that is currently in a band class or that has played a band instrument for at least 1 year.  Students rehearse music together in preparation for concerts and competitons.

Book Club

Sponsored by Ann Sponnoble 

The Book Club is an afterschool gathering where students recommend and discuss books that are not read in class! Discussions include literary analysis, social implications, censorshipts, etc. It is open to all Sagemont students.

Builders Club

Sponsored by Anna Cullen

Builders Club is a student-led service organization for middle school students dedicated to school and community service. Any student interested in service, and of good character, is eligible to join. Kiwanis International, a worldwide service organization whose clubs serve children and develop youth leadership, and the Sagemont Upper School Campus sponsor the Builders Club.

Critics Award Program (Cappies)

Cappies stands for Critics Award Program. The club gives students the opportunity to watch a wide variety of High School plays and musicals in the South Florida community. Students are trained as theatre critics. 

Chess Club

The Sagemont Chess Club welcomes all students, regardless of experience, who are interested in playing chess. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the game and play chess with peers. This is the club for you whether you want to relax and play chess with your friends or just stop in for a challenging game.

Drama Club

Drama Club is open to both Middle and High School Students. Students participate in auditions, rehearsals, and live performances!

Environmental Club

Enivronmental Club is open to both middle and high school students. Students participate in recycling projects, fundraisers, field trips, and much more!

Key Club

Key Club is the largest and oldest service program for high school students worldwide. Key Club membership is open to any high school student who desires to become a leader in his/her school and community and wishes to provide services to others. Key Club activities include March of Dimes.

Chorus

The Chorus Club is a performance based club and is open to all middle and high school students. Rehearsals are held once a week in preparation for the winter concert, spring concert, and District Music Performance Assessments. 


Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society)

Sagemont's Math Honor Society is dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject and promoting the enjoyment of mathmatics among high school students. This is a competitive club. Students have the opportunity to test their skills against students of other schools.

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is one of the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship. National Junior Honor Society

Odyssey of the Mind

The Middle School Math Club inspires and encourages students with an interest in math to achieve excellence through fun, challenging games and creative problem-solving activities.

Pep Band

Pep Band is a performance group that performs at the Boys Varsity Basketball games.  You do not have to be enrolled in a band class. One year of experience is required to participate.

Politicking/Model UN

We are a devoted group of students dedicated to educating the youth of South Florida about the United Nations, and the peaceful resolution of national and international conflict, all in an exciting and fast-paced environment! Students prepare and participate in National Conferences.

Quill and Scroll Honor Society

The Quill and Scroll Honor Society encourages and recognizes individual student achievement in journalism and scholastic publication. Members must be a junior or senior and have a minimum GPA of a 3.5 in general scholastic standing for the cumulative total of all high school work. They must have done superior work in some phase of journalism or school publications work. They must be recommended by their teachers and approved for membership.

Spanish Honor Society

The Sagemont Spanish Honor Society recognizes high student achievement in Spanish and promotes a continuity of interest in Hispanic Studies. We discuss ways in which we can continue our study of Spanish language and culture and also use our expertise to help and encourage others to do the same. This society has been helping an orphanage in Miami for several years. 

Spanish Junior Honor Sociey

The SJHS recognizes middle school student achievement in Spanish and promotes a continuity of interest in Hispanic Studies. All members are required to participate in projects. Membership is by invitation only.

French Honor Society

The Sagemont French Honor Society recognizes high student achievement in French and promotes a continuity in Francophone Studies. We discuss ways in which we can continue our study of French language and culture and also use our expertise to help and encourage others to do the same. 

Thespian Honor Society

The Thespian Honor Society works to promote the arts at our school and in the community. Thespians also provide support to other organizations that have artistic events. Every year, Thespians are eligible to compete in a district-wide competition in performance or production. After the district competition, some students are chosen to attend the State competition. It is an excellent opportunity to meet other students interested in the dramatic arts and make friends with similiar interests. The Sagemont Troupe 6915 has won many awards in the last 2 years. Membership is by invitation and granted to students with demonstrated meritorious work in theater.

HS Student Government

The Sagemont Student Government Association (SGA) develops leadership qualities, as well as a common appreciation and respect for fellow students and faculty members. The SGA fosters meaningful student development opportunities through leadership positions and extracurricular activities and events.

MS Student Government

The Middle School Student Government’s mission is to provide leadership and service opportunities to all students. Student government will supply a vehicle for students to share ideas on improving our school through support and respect for each other. The students will participate throughout the year in various events and fundraising activities that will serve both our school and the surrounding community.
