Spanish Honor Society
The Spanish Honor Society (SHS) recognizes high student achievement in Spanish and promotes a continuity of interest in Hispanic Studies. We discuss ways in which to continue our study of Spanish language and culture and use our expertise to encourage others to do the same. This society performs services within the school and in the community such as providing tutoring for students. Members of the club have organized, with help from the parents, an annual International lunch in May during which food is featured from Asia, Europe, and North and South America. For four consecutive years we have provided help for needy children by donating toys, food, and office equipment.
This club is designed for students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher who are not only good students, but also demonstrate leadership. There is a requirement for a minimum of 50 community service hours. Membership to this club is by invitation only.
