The College Guidance department at The Sagemont School believes that the college application and acceptance process should emphasize individualism and self-reflection. Students make the best possible college choices when they thoroughly understand their strengths, goals, and personal style. We help facilitate this process by serving as advocates and allies for each student at Sagemont.
Our College Counselor helps students evaluate and understand how various aspects of their high school career will affect their candidacy. We encourage students to drive the college planning process by encouraging them to make decisions on where to apply, what to write about in essays, and whom to ask for recommendations.
The relationships between The Sagemont School College Guidance Office and college admissions offices are of utmost importance and are founded on mutual respect, honesty, and professionalism. In order to keep colleges and universities informed about the quality and worth of a Sagemont School education, our College Counselor participates in local, state, and national professional organizations and attends conferences. Additionally, our College Counselor is a member of NACAC (National Association for College Admissions Counseling) and adheres to the NACAC Statement of Students’ Rights and Responsibilities in the college admissions process.
